Old Speckled Hen is a popular ale in the UK, known as the country's no. 1 premium ale. The ale was first brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the MG car factory in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. It was named after the factory's test car, known as the “Owld Speckl’d Un”. The ale has a unique and distinctive taste, with a finely balanced blend of malts and hops. It has an auburn and copper appearance, malty, toffee notes on the nose, and a taste of malt with distinctive hints of caramel balanced by a touch of fruit.

The secret to its success is the blend of Crystal and pale malts, along with the Master Brewer’s blend of Pilgrim, First Gold and Goldings hops. The ale pairs especially well with full-flavoured meats, roasts, sausages and pies.
