PerfectDraft Palm 6L Keg

Palm is a Belgian amber ale, but with a bit of a difference. Time for a history lesson!

Back in the day a competition was held amongst Belgian breweries to come up with a beer to represent the nation. With the prominence of both refreshing German Pilsners and complex and flavourful English cask ales on the rise in the continent, Palm was created to deliver on both of these fronts. Oh, and it won the competition!

Palm is a 5.2% amber ale, with an effervescence that makes it refreshing (similar to that freshness of a pilsner) whilst also delivering the flavours and characteristics of a traditional Belgian ale.

Pouring a slightly hazy deep amber colour with a thick white head, the aromas you will pick up are bready malts, clove, banana and the slight fresh grassiness of hops. The flavour starts with pilsner style sharpness up front, followed by bready maltiness and the spicy tones synonymous with Belgian yeast strains. Stick a few hoppy endnotes with a slight fruitiness and what you have got is a perfect hybrid of refreshing and complexity.
