Does this cocktail name ring a bell? You'll recognise the Corona and Margarita in it, though. And with good reason, as it's a perfect blend of these two drinks for a 100% Mexican cocktail.
While the Margarita is a summer staple thanks to its refreshing, lemony flavours, the Coronarita is even better with its subtle malty notes and slight bitterness.
How to make a Coronarita?
This cocktail is mainly made with Corona Extra beer and tequila. However, to make a Coronarita, you will need the following ingredients:
- 5 cl of tequila
- 2 cl of orange liqueur
- 3 cl of lemon juice
- 20 cl of Corona beer
- A slice of lime
Get your shakers ready!
First, pour the tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice into a shaker.
Then add the ice and shake vigorously. Pour the mixture into a glass.
Now you can add the beer and a small slice of lemon for decoration. And there you have it, a refreshing and delicious Coronarita!
Which glass should you use to enjoy a Coronarita?
A coronarita can be served in the same glass as a margarita. Large margarita glasses have a hollow section that can hold the beer. You can also use any large glass, such as the traditional Mexican corona glass.
What to eat with a coronarita?
For a 100% Mexican pairing, we recommend enjoying a Coronarita with delicious ceviche or spicy dishes such as chicken enchiladas. Lagers are thirst-quenching beers, making them perfect for cutting through salty and rich foods. With Corona as its main ingredient, Coronarita goes perfectly with good tacos.
