A simple and flavourful beer cake recipe
To make this quick and tasty cake, gather the following ingredients:
- 300 g flour
- 280 g sugar
- 1/2 sachet of baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 20 cl oil
- 1 tbsp rum (or orange blossom water)
- 20 cl beer (blonde, amber, dark—your choice!)
Start by mixing the flour, sugar, and baking powder in a large bowl. Separate the egg yolks from the whites and add the yolks to the dry ingredients. Then stir in the oil, rum, and beer, mixing thoroughly until the batter is smooth.
Pour the mixture into a buttered cake tin and place it in a cold oven. Set the oven to 150°C (thermostat 5) and bake on a fan setting for one hour. Serve with a red fruit coulis and sliced strawberries for a fresh, elegant finish.
