Our Beer Sommelier on this month’s box

We’ve only one criteria really when choosing which beers we’re going to stock: is it one of the best in the world? And only the very best of these will be chosen for our Beer Club Cases... and we have an amazing selection this month.

We hope these will help you through these dreary dark nights. Despite the grey skies, I love this time of year for warming foods and snuggling up with a beer. 

With Bonfire Night fresh in our minds, I like the chocolatey Thornbridge Cocoa Wonderland with sweet treats like s’mores. The Magic Rock Dark Arts would go well with a creamy mac n’ cheese: think blue or mature cheddars.

Amber ales like Wiper and True In the Pines or Magic Rock Rapture would be nice with a toad-in-the-hole while the easy-drinking Verdant Headband Pale Ale would love a hearty steak and ale pie.

I adore the Thornbridge Lukas and think it’s fabulous with baked chicken, as is Jopen’s Adriaan Wheat Beer. Finally, the big bitterness in this version of the Siren Proteus would love the challenge of a vindaloo curry—if you dare!
