Learn when was beer first made !

The beginnings of this production are the result of chance and are thought to date back to 6000 BC.

A tablet discovered in Uruk (an ancient Mesopotamian region) establishes the accidental creation of the first beer at this period.

A resident of Mesopotamia is said to have forgotten to remove his dry barley bread from the water. The water would then have turned into beer, under the effect of fermentation and natural yeasts.

If his bread was dry, it would have been made into beer.

If his bread was dry, it was because of Sumerian customs. They produced large volumes of bread in advance before storing them. To eat them and avoid breaking teeth, it was essential to make them softer, under the effect of heated water.

On the other hand, it's no coincidence that the drink's first name means liquid bread. Used in this region, the Akkadian language mentions this very first beer, referring to it as sikaru.
