This creation is more a matter of chance than of invention and thought to make this alcohol.

According to tablets found in Uruk, Mesopotamia (southern Iraq), a Sumerian forgot to remove his barley bread in water. The inhabitants of this region made and stored their bread for a certain period of time. Very dry, these had to be softened with water in order to be eaten during a meal.

This fortunate oversight led to the transformation of water into beer, thanks to the fermentation process and the action of natural yeasts. This origin is established in 6000 BC.

And it's no coincidence that this drink has a very special name, in its original language, Akkadian. Spoken in Mesopotamia, it refers to beer as sikaru. This name means liquid bread. This expression was used for a long time in Mesopotamia, Asia and other countries !
