Beer lovers are already familiar with Kwak, the iconic Belgian beer that has helped make Belgium's brewing heritage famous worldwide. Brewed by the renowned Bosteels Brewery, Kwak has long been available in PerfectDraft format for your home beer dispenser.
Now, two exciting new variations are joining the PerfectDraft lineup: the crisp and slightly bitter Kwak Blonde, and the fruity, flavourful Kwak Rouge—both now available in 6L PerfectDraft kegs.
Kwak : a legendary Belgian beer from Bosteels brewery
Alongside Tripel Karmeliet and Deus, Kwak stands as one of the iconic beers from Bosteels Brewery. In the 1970s, the brewery decided to revive the story behind this historic beer, naming it after Pauwel Kwak, a beer-loving innkeeper from 18th-century Belgium.
The tale begins in the town of Dendermonde (Termonde), where Pauwel Kwak ran the popular inn “Le Cor.” Known for his amber beer, Kwak’s brew became a hit among travellers and coach drivers. However, coachmen weren’t allowed to leave their carriages unattended, making it difficult to enjoy a proper break.
To solve this, the now-famous Kwak glass was designed to fit into a wooden stand attached to the coach. This ingenious design allowed drivers to drink without dismounting, earning it the nickname “the coachman’s glass.” Today, Kwak is still traditionally served in this distinctive glass, enhancing the drinking experience.
Whether you choose Kwak Blonde or Kwak Rouge, both are best enjoyed from the original Kwak glass to fully appreciate their flavour and heritage.
Kwak Blonde : a Belgian blond ale with subtle bitterness
The PerfectDraft Kwak Blonde keg delivers a smooth, refreshing Belgian Blond Ale with a 7.4% ABV. Pouring a bright yellow with a creamy white head, it’s brewed with Styrian Golding, Cascade, and Simcoe hops. The result? A delicately bitter beer with complex malty, hoppy, and fruity notes.

Kwak rouge: a fruity and aromatic delight

Best served at 6°C, this 8% ABV fruit beer offers rich aromas of red fruits, cherries, and sweet candies, underpinned by subtle woody notes.
