At the top of the pack Leffe Ruby would be the perfect accompaniment to dessert or cheese (mmm cheese). It pours a clear, darkish pink and is very sweet. No wonder why you all love it! Find out more...
Good fruit beers are meant for sharing and Thornbridges fruit beer offering is no exception. Aged with raspberries in burgundy barrels, this strong sour red ale won the silver medal at the 2016 World Beer Cup (result!). Days of Creation is smooth and complex with raspberry fruitiness and a hint of lemon zest with a dry finish.
This is an iconic fruit beer that really sets the benchmark for cherry beers. The aroma is heavy cherry and a little almond, almost like a cherry bakewell! It’s smooth, and not too sweet or tart. No boozy burn, so easy drinking. A must try if you’re a fruit beer fan.
Raspberries take centre stage in this intensely fruity, low ABV beer brewed in Vlezenbeek, Belgium by the Lindemans family. Spritzy carbonation and a slight tart acidity temper the jammy sweetness, making Lindemans Framboise delightfully refreshing and easy-drinking. A perfect dessert beer.
Lindeman's Pecheresse pours a sparkling golden colour but it's really the wonderfully interesting, sweet-yet-sour, flavour that makes this fruit beer stand out. Expect big notes of, obviously, peaches alongside a subtle citrus character and its typical bold sourness. A dry, refreshing finish gives way to a lingering sweetness that has each sip going down almost way too easy. This is a beautiful fruit lambic.
Pours a deep raspberry shade, and crammed with raspberry flavour with a scent of cherry too! This is quite a sweet pour, but the malty base just keeps it from being overpowering. A great Summer tipple.
Liefmans Fruitesse is a classic Belgian fruit beer. Aromas and flavours are dominated by cherries, raspberries, and other berries along with a bit of marzipan. Satisfyingly sweet but not cloying, the fruits are on full-display and are accented by a bit of extra sweetness with no hops to distract. Moderately carbonated yet smooth and creamy, this sparkling ruby-red drink is an enjoyable fruit beer.
Firestone go back to there vineyard roots with this one, made by chucking some chardonnay and wine grapes into the fermentation. You also get some hibiscus in the mix. The result gives you the best of both beer and rosé wine. A superb, light and refreshing fruit beer for the Summer months.
With spontaneously fermented cider as the mash liquor, this is an altogether different kind of beer. It’s quirky, curious and interesting in every way and there’s an almost gourmet experience to it, no less than you’d expect from the likes of Põhjala, To Øl and Michelin starred chef Christian Gadient! Using cider, fresh apples and rye from Estonia, it’s tart, salty, spicy and sour all at once.
This fruit beer from To Øl packs in strawberry, blackcurrant, tangerine, mango, papaya, passion fruit, cherry and raspberry. The red berries are dominant throughout with some subtle stonefruit, juicy sweetness peeking in as well. It’s tart but lightly sweet with quite a boozy finish. It’s like a party in your mouth and all the fruits invited!
