The holiday season is the perfect time to indulge in unique and delicious desserts that will impress your guests. At PerfectDraft, we've got you covered with a light, easy-to-make Christmas dessert—because after a hearty festive meal, a refreshing and effortless dessert is just what you need!

Let’s get started!

For this recipe, we’re making a Christmas log inspired by tiramisu, infused with a touch of Christmas beer!

Choosing the right Christmas beer

For the best results, we recommend using a Stout or Porter with chocolate and coffee notes. These flavors perfectly complement the coffee base of the tiramisu, adding a subtle, sweet depth to your dessert.

Top choice: Guinness is a classic Stout with rich chocolate and coffee undertones. For example, Foreign Extra Stout offers a deep, roasted flavor that pairs beautifully with the creamy layers of tiramisu.

Second choice: Try a chocolate-forward beer like Founders Porter, featuring chocolate, coffee, and vanilla notes. This beer is ranked as one of the top 4 Porters in the world and will elevate your frozen tiramisu with bold, aromatic flavors.

Instructions

Beer Tiramisu Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the cream

  • Separate the egg yolks and whites into two bowls.
  • Beat the yolks with sugar and vanilla sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the mascarpone until you get a creamy texture.
  • Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form (tip: add a pinch of salt for better consistency).
  • Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture using a spatula for a fluffy cream.

Step 2: Assemble the layers

  • Mix the beer and coffee in a bowl.
  • Briefly dip the ladyfingers into the liquid and arrange them as the first layer in a dish (don’t soak them too much to avoid excess moisture).
  • Add a layer of mascarpone cream.
  • Repeat the process, alternating layers of ladyfingers and cream.

Step 3: Chill and serve

  • Cover with cling film and refrigerate for a few hours.
  • Transfer to the freezer overnight for the perfect frozen Christmas log effect.
