The History of Vocation
Founded in 2015 by beer enthusiast John Hickling, Vocation Brewery is a British craft brewery driven by passion and ambition to share beer in all its forms. From NEIPAs to stouts, Vocation offers sleekly designed cans filled with bold, unforgettable flavours. What is an IPA?
If you haven’t yet tried Life & Death IPA, here’s a quick look at the IPA beer style and its American evolution. Originating in England in the 18th century, India Pale Ales quickly became popular among Europeans who loved hoppy, bitter beers. According to legend, barrels of IPA were sent to British troops in India with extra hops to preserve them during long voyages. While the story may be romanticised, it’s true that hop-forward beers were cherished by the British for their bitterness and freshness.
Although IPA popularity declined in England over time, American brewers revived the style, experimenting with aromatic hops and creating a wide variety of IPAs.
