How to Host the Ultimate Super Bowl Party in the UK
The Super Bowl isn’t just a game—it’s an event. Whether you’re a die-hard NFL fan or just in it for the halftime show and snacks, hosting a Super Bowl party is the best way to bring the excitement home. And while American football might not be as big as the Premier League over here, that doesn’t mean we can’t throw an epic night of touchdowns, beers, and brilliant banter.
Here’s how to host the ultimate Super Bowl party—UK style.1. Kickoff Time: Plan for the Late Night
Unlike in the US, the Super Bowl kicks off late in the UK—usually around 11:30 -

PerfectDraft Pricing Update – February 2025
At 12pm on Thursday 6th February we will be increasing the price of most of our kegs 2.5%, or 13p per pint, on average.
It’s been 18 months since our prices last changed. Over that period, we have experienced cost increases as a business, including recent changes to alcohol duty and environmental taxes. This has unfortunately meant it is not possible for us to continue to hold prices going forwards.

Hello beeries! February is here, bringing with it spring flowers, Pancake Day, and um - terrible storms?! This month sees plenty of exciting new additions to the Beer Hawk line up, so listen up for the low down on some of our top picks of February's Beer Club...
First up, we're delighted to introduce Liverpool Craft Beer Co! Founded in 2010, they built their brewery from scratch, and since then have lived by their motto, "Keeping busy brewing good beer". This month, every case will contain the fantastic Love Lane Pale Ale and Rye Pale Ale. Originally brewed under a railway bridge on Liverpool's famous Love Lane, Love Lane Pale Ale is fresh, light and fruity, with notes of orange, robust pale malts, sharp grapefruit and a touch of grassiness, while Rye Pale Ale is crisp, spritzy and bitter, with zesty citrus, red berries, and of course plenty of peppery rye. Medium and Large cases will also contain White Fox, a naturally cloudy white IPA brewed with the malt bill and yeast typical

Happy New Beer! I hope you're in the mood to sample something new for #Tryanuary, because we've got a brilliant line up for you in our January Beer Club. It can be a gloomy time of year as the excitement of Christmas and New Year fades, but at least you can rely on us to cheer you up with some fab beer!
One of the beers we're most excited about in the January Beer Club is Beavertown Applelation, a bramley apple saison. Small, Medium and Large cases will all contain a can of this 8.7% ABV saison, which the brewery originally named Barley Champagne. This name caused them a bit of trouble because the term 'Champagne' is a controlled appellation, meaning that only sparkling wines produced in the Champagne region can actually use that name! And so, this lovely beer was renamed 'Applelation' (see what they did there?). Fruity sweetness and tart apple notes mingle with a peppery Belgian farmhouse character,

Hello beeries! Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet, or do you grimace every time a festive tune comes on the radio? It's Beer Club time again, and we've put together a fab selection of beers which will please tinsel fans and Grinches alike.
The rock star of December's Beer Club is Bad Co from North Yorkshire, who have made quite a name for themselves despite only opening last year. Starting out as a nano brewery in Blind Jack's pub in Knaresborough, their beers are all named for rock songs, the branding is pretty cool, and the beer - well, you'll be able to draw your own conclusions, but we love it! Small, Medium and Large cases will all contain Dazed and Confused, a modern milk stout, and Comfortably Numb, their award winning golden ale. Tart cherry and liquorice notes are prominent in Dazed and Confused, with

Sometimes, for whatever reason, you might need to buy non-alcoholic beverages, but that doesn't mean you have to be stuck drinking orange juice! We here at Beer Hawk have hunted out some of the tastiest alcohol-free beer available so you can still enjoy the malty, hoppy goodness that we all love.

Hello beeries! Hope you're all enjoying these foggy autumn days. In November's Beer Club we've got plenty of lovely libations to warm you up, including seasonal specials Anchor Big Leaf Maple Red Ale, brewed with Californian maple syrup, and the intensely autumnal Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale!
We love our American beer here at Beer Hawk, and this month all case sizes will include Rams Head IPA, a West Coast style IPA from Fordham in Delaware. At 75 IBUs (International Bitterness Units), Rams Head is one big bitter beastie, with citrus and resin given even more of a punch by a dry, rye spice. Small, Medium and Large cases will also contain the cheekily named Founders Dirty

Now a popular and widely available beer style, saisons were originally brewed in little Belgian farmhouse breweries for the seasonal workers (the 'saisonniers') who were hired in to work on the farm during the busy summer season. As the farm workers were entitled to about eight pints of beer a day(!), saisons were brewed to be refreshing, hydrating and not too strong, around 3 - 3.5% ABV. In recent years the strength of a typical saison has shifted upwards, and Saison Dupont, which is widely regarded as the quintessential saison, is 6.5% ABV.

Say it with me: "Belgian beer". A phrase which conjures up thoughts of quality, heritage, and - well, let's be honest - a fairly high ABV! Belgium is well known for its blonds, dubbels and tripels, among others; of course, we already know that the Belgians make a good witbier. Beer is very important in Belgium, and most Belgian breweries have their own custom glasses designed to enhance the aroma and flavour of the beer. Ornate chalices are undoubtedly elegant, but the most eye-catching contender has to be the Kwak glass, which comes balanced in a wooden stand.

October 07, 2015
Hello beeries! Welcome to October. There's a chill in the air and the leaves are turning red and gold, but that's not the only change afoot - as you probably know by now, we've made a little change how Beer Club works. You can now choose between a Small, Medium or Large case: that's eight, twelve, or fifteen excellent beers. Of course, it's easy to change your subscription level, so if you fancy more or less beer each month you can switch case sizes as necessary. If you haven't had the chance to update your profile with your new case preference yet, now's the time to log on and do so.
That's the big announcement out of the way, now it's time for what you've all been waiting for - the beer! We're excited to let you known that Small, Medium and Large cases will all contain Anchor Liberty Ale's 40th Anniversary Limited Edition. Anchor Liberty Ale was first brewed on April 18, 1975 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Paul Revere's famous 'Midnight Ride' which let his fellow Revolutionaries

September 18, 2015
Here in Britain we have a unique brewing heritage, and I think that it's fair to say that beer is a big part of our national identity. We now have over 1,400 breweries in Britain, which means that we've got more breweries per head of the population than anywhere else in the world! Most of those breweries are brewing ale (top-fermented beer) rather than lager, although these days you can easily find good British lager, especially with the recent interest in hoppy lagers such as Celt House Lager and Weird Beard Faceless Spreadsheet Ninja which have all of the big citrus flavours you'd expect from an IPA alongside the crisp, clean character of a lager.
When you think of British beer, you'll probably think of a foaming pint of amber bitter, although bitter is a notoriously difficult term to define! It originated as a casual name for pale ales, which were hoppier and therefore more bitter in flavour than other common beers such as milds and porters, and covers a broad range of strengths

You might be beginning to suspect that we have a bit of an unsubtle crush on Manchester considering the amount we mention it, but the fact is that there are just so many fantastic breweries popping up there it'd be selfish of us not to share them with you! I'm excited to announce that in September's Beer Club we're featuring one of my very favourite breweries: Runaway Brewery, based in Manchester's Green Quarter.
Both cases will contain Runaway's American Brown Ale, Rye IPA and Smoked Porter, and those of you who subscribe to the Strong case will also find the Pale Ale and IPA included.

Hooray, it's Beer Club time again! We've got a great set of beers for you this month (as always!), with a selection spanning from Austria to Maryland with a stop off in Manchester thrown in for good measure...
I'd like, if I may, to introduce you to Brauhaus Bevog from Bad Radkersburg in Austria. I must admit, I'm pretty excited about Bevog at the moment! For the Normal case we've chosen a couple of appropriately summery beers: Deetz Hoppy Kolsch and Tak Pale Ale. Deetz is clean and refreshing with a good whack of fresh, grassy hops and a hint of zesty lemon, while Tak is beautifully balanced and aromatic with a resinous, earthy character. Those of you who subscribe to the Strong case will find Rudeen Black IPA and Who Cares Milk Stout. They're both robust and roasty, but that's where the similarity ends. Rudeen is bursting with pithy orange and sharp grapefruit, while Milk Stout has a smooth, creamy lactose tang balanced by dark chocolate bitterness.

August 17, 2015London Beer City is one of the highlights of my beery calendar, and I always plan my week around a visit to the Great British Beer Festival. This year I went down a day early to help judge the final round of the Champion Bottled Beer of Britain competition. The finals take place at Kensington Olympia the day before GBBF opens its doors, and as my fellow judges and I were led through the venue up to the judging room we walked through a hive of activity as volunteers worked hard to put the finishing touches to the festival. The selection process for the Champion Bottled Beer of Britain takes a whole year(!), and the nine beers we would be judging had been carefully whittled down through many, many rounds of tastings. It was my first time judging in a beer competition, and I must admit that it was initially a little bit daunting to be sitting on a table with a load of experienced judges who had been doing this sort of thing for years, but as the beers were brought out all of those nerves

Now, we all know that beer style choices needn't be entirely weather dependent - a stout is for life, not just for Christmas! - but I must admit that on a hot sunny afternoon, a glass of wheat beer often feels like the only sensible choice. From classic Belgian witbier and German weissbier to unusual modern twists, wheat beer can be a marvellously diverse style to explore.

July 08, 2015
Well, what a July it's been so far... I hope you all managed to enjoy the heatwave before the lightning storms hit! In keeping with the extremes of weather, this month's Beer Club includes a beer which we think is a fitting juxtaposition of dark and light - yes, it's BrewDog Libertine Black! Whether you fancy some sharp, fruity hops or chewy dark malts, Libertine ticks all the boxes with pine, citrus and blackcurrant notes contrasting with intense plain chocolate and roasty bitterness.
Headlining July's Beer Club is Caldera Brewing Company from Oregon. Meaning 'cauldron' or 'cooking pot', the brewery is named after the Newberry Caldera, a deep cauldron-like dip in the local landscape caused by the Newberry Volcano. In 2005, Caldera became the first West Coast brewery to brew and can their own beer; how's that for ahead of the curve? Both Normal and Strong subscribers will get their hands on Ashland Amber, a well-balanced amber ale full of the aromatic citrus and pine notes of

June 19, 2015We're always proud of our selection here at Beer Hawk, but at the moment we're particularly chuffed as we've managed to get our hands on some rather special beers. Although it's tempting to keep them all for ourselves, we thought we should tell you about a few of our current favourites - we're nice like that. Some are limited release or don't make their way into the country too often, and some we think are just plain exciting!

June 04, 2015
June has arrived, bringing with it the promise of long sunny days - well, we can but hope! This month's Beer Club happens to include some rather exciting beer from the North West, starring two of the region's most unusual breweries: Chorlton Brewing Company and Mad Hatter. Though they've only been selling beer for six months, Chorlton Brewing Co. is making waves with contemporary sour beer inspired by traditional European styles. In this month's regular beer club you'll find their quirky Woodruff Berliner. Berliner Weisse is frequently served with a shot of woodruff syrup, but Chorlton Brewing Co. has incorporated the herb into the brew itself, resulting in a wonderfully easy-drinking beer which is tangy and crisp, with lemony sourness and a dry finish. Those who prefer their Beer Club Strong will be treated to Yakima Sour, stuffed full of zesty citrus hops and tasting lightly tart. Juicy oranges and grapefruit bitterness make this a beer which will delight hopheads and sour fans alike.

Up here in Yorkshire the weather has been absolutely beautiful this week--spring has truly sprung. Between the blooming daffodils, baby lambs and perfect temperatures we've had a hard time staying in the office. Indeed, the other day our director Mark sat outside in a lounger all day wearing the most ridiculous hat. Nevertheless, his car-park holiday has inspired us to take advantage of the nice weather and head outside with our favorite beer.

Well, just in time for relaxing springtime picnics, we've got gorgeous Rooster's Brewing Co. beers in a can for subscribers to both our Normal and Strong Beer Club for April! There is a staggering amount of chatter about beer and not knowing some of the techhy language can make it a tad confusing. To help we’ve explained the main terms below, but don’t be intimidated by the chatter. Beer is very, very simple. To make it all you need is water, yeast, a grain (barley, wheat, rice etc.) to get your malt from and some hops and despite the bewildering array of names given to the final product all of them fall into two styles; Ale or Lager.
