There’s been an abundance of beautiful beer books recently. Here’s some of our favourites, plus a classic.

BEST FOR: Design geeks This book started life on one of our favourite blogs: Oh Beautiful Beer. Harvey Shepard, a designer himself, curates the best beer labels he can find... yep, you can lose yourself for hours on the site. The book is subtitled The Evolution of Craft Beer & Design and charts the history of beer design up to some brand new favourites. Countryman Press. Britain’s Beer Revolution BEST FOR: Anyone really This award-winning book is written by Roger Protz and Adrian Tierney- Jones and is a compelling look at the incredible changes in the UK brewing scene over the past decade. It’s full of stories, interviews and recommendations from the country’s best breweries, as well as a look at some beer hotspots. CAMRA Books. The Beer & Food Companion BEST FOR: Foodies Canadian writer Stephen Beaumont has written this beautifully illustrated book that looks at the nuances of beer and food matching, as well as cooking with beer. Alongside profiles of the pioneers in beer and food, he’s also pursuaded them to share a few recipes with him (and in turn we’ve published a couple of recipes on page 24). Jacqui Small Publishing. Craft Brew BEST FOR: Crafty homebrewers This amazing book by Euan Ferguson brings together 50 homebrew recpes from some of the world’s best breweries. Inside you’ll find out how to make Brooklyn Brewery’s Sorachi Ace, Camden Town Brewery’s groundbreaking IHL, as well as beers from Burning Sky, Mikkeller, Anchor and Kernel. Time to start homebrewing again! Frances Lincoln. The Oxford Companion to Beer BEST FOR: Completists Everything you wanted to know about beer in one huge volume. Garrett Oliver, Brookyln Brewery’s Brewmaster and all-round craft beer superstar edits this vast tome that covers every aspect of the world’s favourite beverage in more than 1,000 enteries written by more than 150 experts. It’s an essential book on any beer lovers shelf. Oxford University Press.
